Boat
Boat is a work that has integrated some curatorships in São Paulo.
The work Boat, from 2011, is a diptych composed of two videos of the same vessel, centered on the frame. In the first, the image is frozen, while in the second, although the boat is powered, a strong current prevents it from moving, creating a kind of "stopped motion". This hypnotic and powerful work functions as a synthesis of the artist's recent research on the tensions between motion and immobility, action and inaction.
The question of movement is shown as a game of tensions where a boat, full of people, struggles against the force of the contrary heavy currents.
Barco
Barco é um trabalho que integrou algumas curadorias em São Paulo.
A obra “Barco”, de 2011, é um díptico composto por dois vídeos da mesma embarcação, centralizada no quadro. No primeiro, a imagem está congelada, enquanto no segundo, apesar de o barco estar com os motores ligados, uma forte correnteza o impede de se deslocar, criando uma espécie de “movimento parado”. Essa obra hipnótica e potente funciona ser entendida como síntese da pesquisa recente da artista acerca das tensões entre movimento e imobilidade, ação e inação.
A questão do movimento se mostra como um jogo de tensões onde um barco repleto de pessoas luta contra a força da pesada correnteza contrária.
